Had the opportunity to join a tennis clinic and had an extremely helpful session. Coach Simon was terrific and worked on a few areas that I really needed some help on. He was great at analyzing my strokes and giving smart, tailored advice followed by a few drills that would cement my muscle memory. His tennis skill was phenomenal and we really enjoyed the free play time, squeezing the best out of our 4.0 capabilities to try to win a point while he effortlessly kept the balls in play so that we could work on our skills. Every once in a while he would smoke one past us - which only inspired us to get better. Great experience and a treat to play on clay.

unfortunately, overrated and not worth the price. The pool is outdated, towels were stained, but worst of all, you can barely see the ocean, and when you walk to the ocean, it's pretty bad. you don't even have a view of the sunset. Service, however, was great. so kudos to the staff.

I have stayed at this isolated resort many time's over the years since 2015. This semi-resort is huge and please be prepared to do plenty of walking around.. The villa's are rather charming with glass enclosed fire places and the room -service, prior to Covid-19 was top shelf. I haven't been there since last year in 2019. The valet service is a stellar and they treat you like a star.. just don't leave cash lying around in your car. They also can drive you to your room in a golf cart if your NOT up to the long stroll ...the front desk people are always kind. The lobby has a huge fire-place and this place is always clean.. There is a 7-11 and a gas station near , that's on the other side of the 101 freeway.. This is perfect for a honey-moon, vacation or a hide-away from the kid's.. I highly recommend staying here ..

This is the Ritz Carlton Bacara Resort. We stay there often when visiting Santa Barbara. The staff is top notch and when the amenities are open (this visit was during the time of Covid) are amazing. The pool is nothing amazing. It does get crowded. A lot of families are here. This can at times be very distracting from a nice quiet time you may be seeking but it is par for the course (though a bit unusual when you stay at a Ritz). Dining is satisfactory. We used to eat exclusively at the resort but have since ventured off and have found some really amazing restaurants so on this visit we did not dine in. Is it worth all the hype? Yes...kind of. There was a time when the Ritz name meant something more than an average experience. Now (since the Marriott has purchased) it has become a high end hotel and not much more. Sad really. I do remember when those times and miss them dearly. It does take time getting used to . I could not blame them for no turn down service and pool closures...we were aware of this when booking and the price reflected the lack of services. But still there are some things that could have been adjusted. I hate the climb up and down the hill to get to and fro to th

Our stay at the Bacara could not have been better. The good times started at the check in when they upgraded our room due to our Gold status. We were shuttled to our room that was right on the water. The view was perfect and we fell asleep each night to the sound of waves lapping against the beach. That evening we walked down to the beach to watch the sunset. The next morning I walked up to the coffee shop and got our breakfast of two egg white burritos, yogurt parfaits and cut fruit, delicious. After our breakfast, which we ate on our private veranda overlooking the ocean, we headed to the pool. The service and the management was amazing. They treat you like family and really make you feel welcome. All in all our stay was memorable and something we will alway think fondly of. The grounds are maintained beautifully as you would expect. All the staff had smiles on their face whenever they spoke to us. The Bacara is a gem, and should be be on the top of everyoneβs list for a wonderful getaway!
